Small Town Style

For girls living in a small town, it's a little harder to keep up with our city-dwelling sisters. But there are a few things you can do to make your life a little easier (and prettier).

Shop Online
Online stores are a godsend when the closest Westfield is 6 hours away. Most sites have sizing charts which makes it a lot easier to find the perfect fit. Make sure that you check out the site's return policy as well to make sure that you can send things back if you aren't 100% satisfied with them.

If the online store ships through a courier, make sure that there is a local distributor for that company in your area. If you have a P.O Box and prefer to have your goodies delivered there, it's a good idea to check that the store can send your purchase through Australia Post.

Embrace Your Pharmacy
I know, I know, it's important to support local businesses too - so don't dismiss your chemist for decent quality cosmetics. A lot of chemists sell cruelty-free brands like Nude by Nature, Natio, Revlon, Fudge and Innoxa. Sometimes you might even find smaller, ecocentric Australian brands that you might not see anywhere else.

Write a List
Because I don't get to go shopping IRL often, I like to keep a wish list. This way, I can keep track of the things I want to buy and make sure that I don't forget anything when I do get to the shops. Keeping a wish list is also a good idea for everyone because it is scientifically proven to decrease your risk of impulse buying (well, maybe).

Make Contact
If your planning on buying a big ticket item, make a list of addresses and phone numbers of stores to visit so that you can plan out your journey. You also don't want to drive a long way for something and then realise that the store is waaay too expensive, right? If the shop doesn't provide prices on their website, email them to inquire and most will be happy to help you. If they won't give you a ball park figure then they're probably a waste of time.

People living in the middle of nowhere, how do you shop?
