DIY Patch Shorts + OOTD

I recently modified some old shorts by adding some patches of printed fabric. Here is the DIY and how I wore them. Enjoy!

  • Cool fabric for the patches
  • Old shorts
  • Fabric scissors
  • Cotton thread
  • Sewing needle. Okay, so that's a cross-stitch needle but you get the idea.

Step 1

Cut a piece of your chosen fabric a little larger than needed to fit the front pocket. I only did one side to give that assymmetrical (read: I'm too lazy) look.

Step 2

Fold the edges over for a neater finish and start sewing it in place along the preexisting seams. Be careful not to sew your pocket together when doing the inside!

Step 3

Using the same method, I also added some patches to the back welt pockets to tie it all together.
