5 Super Simple Ways to Have Better Hair Days (and Nights!)

1. For a speedy hair change in the PM, wear your hair in a tight bun during the day and let it out later on for instant volume and loose waves. If the bun is too boring, or you need to tame your hair when it's out, try adding an interesting headband.

2. If your hair needs an extra conditioning boost but you don't have the right products on hand, rub a small drop of olive oil between your palms and smooth onto the tips of your hair. More beauty uses for olive oil here.

3.Take a look at the ingredients list on your shampoo; does it contain sodium laurel/laureth sulphate? These surfactants are commonly used in cleansing products to effectively strip away oil, but they can sometimes remove too much and leave you with dry locks. Try a sulphate-free shampoo to cleanse your hair and scalp while leaving behind more of your hair's natural oils.

4. Know your brushes. I used a bristle brush in the past as it was gentle on my hair, but I never realised how ineffective it was until I bought a paddle brush. For me, a paddle brush is best because my hair knots easily and it is great for detangling. A wide tooth comb is also handy for wet hair.

5. Try curling 'second day' hair. If you're hair is always to slippery to hold curls, it might be too clean. Blast roots with some dry shampoo if they're visibly oily.
