Sweet Vintage Threads at Cream on Crown

Crown Street, Surry Hills is a must visit for vintage lovers in Sydney. There are many vintage stores scattered along this street and I had the pleasure of visiting a particularly amazing one named Cream. This well-organised store had large collections of denim jackets, bikers, button-down shirts, Doc Martens and cut-off shorts among many other sartorial treasures.

If you are normally stuck buying your clothes from low-end chain stores for budget reasons you will be pleased to hear that prices at Cream are comparable to what you pay in most fashion chains. This means that for the same price as your Cotton On denim shorts, you can get something that is unique, environmentally-sustainable and better quality (they just don't make 'em like they used to, you know).

Many pieces have also been re-made or up-cycled to add further flair like these high-waisted cut-off denim shorts that I picked up for $35. There was an entire rack of denim shorts in different sizes with different fabric patches sewn on. This reminded me of some vintage stores in Paris which stock up-cycled shorts with aztec print hems. Tres cool.
